The Women and Men’s Resource Center, originally known as the Continuing Education Center for Women, was established in 1969 by Dr. Beverly O’Neill, former mayor for the City of Long Beach. The center was founded to provide support and career guidance services primarily for women who were returning to school after a period of absence.
Over the years, the center has expanded its services to encompass the needs of all students, both women and men. Our services include: help working through the college enrollment process, information on housing and employment, advocacy, resources and referrals, food, clothing, workshops, crisis counseling, parenting referrals, educational seminars, a lounge area for studying with computers and tutoring.
